What my Pregnant Friends should know One Year after my Miscarriage
About two weeks ago a friend told me that he and his partner were talking about starting a family. He then shared that he immediately felt concern sharing his news with me because of my miscarriage experience.
Last month a friend hesitantly shared her pregnancy news with me. She admitted feeling careful when telling me because she didn't want to hurt me. A few months ago a friend shared that she didn't want me to see her because she was showing. She said she didn't want me to feel like she was rubbing her pregnancy in my face. This past fall, a friend invited me to her baby shower and in the same breath told me I was excused from attending with deep sad eyes and a frown on her face. I wrote this article on the one year saderversary of my miscarriage. My friend reminded me that we should share our victories as much as we share our losses. He encouraged me to write this. Friends- pregnant and non-pregnant friends: I am okay and I mean it from the bottom of my heart.
